Waterproofing Plaster Additive

Sparcolux Cement Waterproofing Agent (CWA) is an acrylic waterproofing additive that is suitable for a wide range of cementitious mixes. This premium quality product not only provides water resistance, but also  enhances adhesion and improves flexural and tensile strengths of cement mixes. 

CWA can be used as a standard cement waterproofing additive or in membrane-reinforced waterproofing projects, and even in applications requiring permanent water immersion.

Plaster, bag wash, tile adhesive and tile grout waterproofer.

  • Using the above table, mix to ratios shown slowly adding cement or powder and mix to a consistent lump free slurry. Stir mix continuously to prevent settlement. 
  • For addition levels in tile adhesive and grouts – refer to manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Ratios above are guidelines, adjust mix as required
  • Dampen the substrate surface with water

 

Application instructions

  • Apply a thick coat with a block brush, thoroughly working product into all surface imperfections
  • The spread rate is 2 – 4m² per litre. This may decrease on porous or rough surfaces
  • Apply two thick coats in a criss cross action 
  • Allow 6 – 8 hours drying time between coats
  • Allow a further 72 hours drying time for ponds, showers, reservoirs, or similar permanent immersion projects.



APPLICATION INFORMATION – MEMBRANE BASED WATERPROOFING +

This product is suitable for water proofing gaps in surfaces, joints between bricks and slabs. This product can be used in applications requiring increased flexibility.

 

Mixing instructions 

  • Roll out and cut membrane to required length
  • Shake CWA product well before use and dilute with water as indicated in table above
  • Using the above table, mix to ratios shown slowly adding cement or powder and mix to a consistent lump free slurry. Stir mix continuously to prevent settlement

 

Application instructions

  • Dampen the substrate surface with water
  • Apply a thick coat of above mix with a block brush, thoroughly working product into all surface imperfections
  • Soak membrane in the slurry, apply to affected area and press membrane into wet prime coat
  • Use a block brush to remove all creases and air pockets
  • Membrane must overlap edges, parapet walls, membrane joints and steps by a minimum of 50mm. 
  • Allow 6 – 8 hours drying time. 
  • The spread rate is 2 – 4m² per litre. This may decrease on porous or rough surfaces
  • Apply an additional two coats of slurry in a criss-cross action. 
  • Allow additional 6 – 8 hours drying time between coats.
  • Allow a further 72 hours drying time for ponds, showers, reservoirs, or similar permanent immersion projects.



STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Ensure the cap is tightly sealed and product stored upright. 
  • Secure product when transporting to prevent accidental spillage. 
  • Store in a cool, dry  place. 
  • Keep out of reach of children. 
  • Dispose of empty containers and do not use for any other purpose. 
  • Do not dispose into common waste system
