Weatherkoat is a water-proofing acrylic used with the Sparcolux Membrane to form a tough but flexible waterproofing barrier. This versatile, affordable product offers excellent water repellency and good UV resistance and can be used across a range of waterproofing applications.

Ensure all substrates are thoroughly clean, sound and free of any contaminants such as dirt, grease, salts and algae.
Cement and fibre-cement roof tiles/sheets
New, weathered or previously painted cement:
Remove fungal growth, lichens and loose or flaking paint with a high pressure water jet and allow to dry.
If the surface is powdery or chalky, seal with Sparcolux Keybond or similar Bonding Liquid. Allow to dry.
New galvanised iron roofs (Corrugated, IBR)
New:
Wash with Galvanised Iron Cleaner per instructions, ensuring oily residue is completely removed. Rinse well with water and allow to dry. Prime exposed metal with Sparcolux Metal Primer, and allow to dry.
Weathered or previously painted:
Remove fungal growth, lichens and loose or flaking paint with a high pressure water jet. Where RUST, remove heavy, loose and flaking rust by wire brushing or sandpapering until exposing the bright metal. Wash down well with water and allow to dry. Same day, prime with Sparcolux Metal Primer.
Chromadek
New:
Rub down surface lightly with scouring pad. Wash with Galvanised Iron Cleaner as per instructions.
Weathered or previously painted:
Remove fungal growth, lichens, and loose or flaking paint with a high pressure water jet. Remove heavy, loose and flaking rust by wire brushing and sandpapering to expose a bright metal.
Wash down well with Galvanised Iron Cleaner as per instructions.. Rinse with water and allow to dry.
Prime with Sparcolux Metal Primer. Allow to dry.
Zinc Alum / AluZinc
Wash with Galvanised Iron Cleaner as per instructions until a water break-free surface is attained. Rinse well with water and allow to dry.
