Bonding Liquid and Waterproofing Plaster Additive

Sparcolux Maxbond is a ready-to-use waterproofing acrylic that can be used as either a Bonding liquid or waterproofing Plaster Additive. 

 

As a Bonding liquid, this keycoat product improves surface adhesion and abrasion resistance for chalky, loose surfaces (plaster or previously painted substrates). Can be applied to newly plastered or old painted surfaces. 


As a Plaster Additive, this cementitious slurry additive improves the durability, adhesion properties and water resistance properties of cement mixes, plaster mixes, tile adhesive mixes and tile grouts.

APPLICATION INFORMATION – BONDING LIQUID +

Improves surface adhesion and abrasion resistance 

 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Shake product well before use. 
  • Do NOT dilute – product thinning is not required 
  • Apply product with a brush, thoroughly working product into all cracks and holes. 
  • This may increase on porous or rough surfaces
  • Allow 2 – 4 hours drying time

 

APPLICATION INFORMATION – PLASTER ADDITIVE +

Improves the durability of plaster, adhesion properties and damp resistance. 

 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Shake product well before use. 
  • Thoroughly mix cement and sand. 
  • Maxbond is ready to use and no additional water is required. 
  • Pour directly into plaster mix as required. 
  • Once mixed to a lump free, uniform consistency plaster mix is ready to apply. 

 

Mixing Guidelines*

Maxbond required:**

Plaster mix  (Cement: 1kg + 4kgs plaster sand)

2 – 2.5 litres

Concrete mix (Cement: 1kg + 4kg sand + 3.5kgs stone)

1.8 – 2 litres 

Tile Adhesive 20kg

8 – 8.5 litres

Tile Grout 1kg

0.55 – 0.65 litres 

Gypsum plaster 1kg 

1.2 – 1.4 litres
